Weekend With and Without Words

This weekend was nothing exciting. Unless you consider warm weather, sitting outside, relaxing on the couch with a blanket, drinking beer and eating pizza exciting, then we had a very exciting weekend.

Kyle had to work both Saturday and Sunday and went in two times each day so that left me with not much to do but clean the house and grocery shop.

Very blurry because Roxi went crazy. My niece sent all three of us our own Valentine Card.

Left: A huge part of our weekend was relaxing on the balcony.
Right: Another huge part of our weekend was sun bathing. So warm.

Finished out the weekend with froyo from The Yogurt Mill. This is my mini raspberry cheesecake with cheesecake bites. Yum!

What is to come this week? Look forward to weekly meals, February's wine review, my desktop wallpaper pick for March from Smashing Magazine, and Friday I will try to post even though we are going out of town.

Exciting upcoming week, kind of.

Window Shopping

I cannot keep myself away from looking at things that intrigue me on Etsy.com . Kyle and I will soon actually do some real shopping and go on a shopping spree. Plus spring cleaning will be soon and we can clean out our closet of things that are collecting dust.

All the little shops on Etsy.com have been busy. I found some really cool items this week.

Kyle and I could fill this quick. (from ThisPaperShip's shop)

Such a precious necklace. (from LilliDolli's shop)

Very true (vinyl decal). (from Singlestonestudios's shop)

I want this vinyl for our guest room, when we get a house. (from LittleCreekMarket's shop)

The Love of My Life

I think it is pretty evident that the first love of my life is my Husband. But I have a second love... That would be my puppy, Roxi! Lately she has been such a cuddle bunny and just sleeping on me all throughout the day. Like this...

She is so precious.

This brings me to my second topic. I went on a job interview today and it went really well. Where at you may ask. It was at Top Notch Kennels which is a dog boarding house for people needing boarding for their dogs and they also have a day care and a grooming facility. How cool, right?

I will be going back again for a second interview which allows me to spend 3 hours working in the facility to make sure it is right for me, and to make sure I am right for them. Who would not love playing with doggies all day plus getting paid for it?

I will keep you all posted with what I find out.

Weekend [Without Words]

Left: I finally received my Valentine's Day present from the husband. It would be an equilizer or workout equipment.
Right: Kyle and I received this little kit from Detroit from my parents for Valentine's Day. Too bad UPS could not find our condo and the hot dogs are spoiled. But now we get to look forward to another box this week.

Left: Bocce Ball alley tucked away in the back of a restaurant downtown. First time no one was back there so we got to play.
Right: What would bocce ball be without some cocktails?

Left: Kyle and I at the zoo, sitting on the little turtle statue.
Right: Dan and Kyle having fun on that same turtle.

The Best Thing...

I am a sucker for the show 'The Best Thing I Ever Ate...' on the Food Channel. Seriously, my mouth waters at everything that pops up on the screen.

I find it very challenging to do anything else when this show comes on. I tried to work out while watching it today but that did not work out to swell. Also, I need to clean the house but that can wait too.

What is the best thing I ever ate? My food of course. Ahh... just kidding. I do make pretty good food though. I also make good desserts! Like my little snack that I made for our 'guest' this weekend. That is right, we are having a friend over.

The little snack is... (left) strawberries stuffed with blueberry cheesecake, (middle) sliced strawberries, (right) chocolate covered strawberries.

Window Shopping [Locally]

I have, again, been window shopping on Etsy.com . I decided to look locally to see what was being made near by.

I came across some pretty cool finds. Want to see?

Cute little metal baskets. (From Needful Nostalgia's shop)

If I owned a home, I would so want this wall hook. (From VladimirsIronArt's shop)

I love corner bookmarks. (From FairestLJ's shop)

If only I actually had business cards for anything, boo! (From 50Splinter's shop)

However, I never hang my keys up. (From SallysBrushofArt's shop)

The Day After

As promised, I will share with you all how my Valentine's Day/Evening went.

I had made beautiful chocolate covered strawberries that we could eat for dessert. Since I did not have to make dinner, because Kyle was surprising me with a meal, I had to do something so I set the table with our beautiful china and stemware.

Kyle made it home from work a little earlier than usual so that we could enjoy our evening together. He made his delicious dinner; baked ranch panko chicken with garlic parmesan smashed potatoes and a salad. Everything came out great and it was nice to eat on our china, even though it was not a fancy meal.

Like I stated yesterday, Kyle opened his present way before Valentine's Day but I have a picture anyway.

Yes, that is a dozen long jerky sticks wrapped like flowers. Can you tell he likes it?

After dinner and clean up, we enjoyed our chocolate covered strawberries and watched Alcatraz.

The beautiful strawberries on our cake plate that matches our china!

It definitely was nice to relax and kind of make a big deal out of dinner. We need to use our china more often.

Now I am waiting for my Valentine's Day present to come in the mail.

Best of Superbowl XLVI

Almost every Superbowl, I really just look forward to the commercials. This year was a big, big, BIG disappointment. About half of the commercials have already been playing or they were not very good at all. We enjoyed our evening over at Kyle's boss's house. It was nice to enjoy some dangerously guilty foods and have a relaxing evening.

I do, however, have two favorite commercials.

Oh goodness... The M&M commercials get me every time!

This one was just adorably funny.

*Window* Shopping

You may have noticed changes again. The template that I previously had was not user 'friendly' at all, at least to me it was not. So here we go... Now one of our beautiful wedding pictures is in the background. I just love it.

This is what I have been gazing over this past week.
