a traveling Wife: Engagement

Engagement

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

I hope you all enjoyed the post yesterday. I had fun writing it and looking through old photos.

While we are still away on vacation, drinking some margaritas, here is a little about our engagement.

Hubby was away in Chicago for his internship in the summer of 2009. I decided to take a mini vacation there to spend some time with him and hopped on the Amtrack from Detroit to Chicago I do not recommend taking the Amtrack.

We enjoyed shopping and eating way too much and visiting what Chicago has to offer.
We had been to Chicago one time before together and we absolutely love it there.

Hubby only went in for a half day of work and came back so we could go get lunch.
I was beyond hungry and was starting to turn into a lunatic get crabby. For some reason, hubby only wanted to stand on one specific side of me and only hold that hand.
Come to find out that the ring was in his pocket.

We stopped at a little sandwich shop and ordered some yummy panini's. After we received our food we decided to eat in the park rather than the restaurant. Hubby kept complaining about a stomach ache and I kept scolding him because he was eating too fast. Ha - I guess the stomach ache was nerves!

We then proceeded down to the beach where we sat on the rocks overlooking the
lake you could also see Michigan, which is where we are from.

Everything kind of happened so quickly and I have no idea what he said but of course I say YES.

After I called everyone I knew, we went to have a celebratory drink at the John Hancock building.

 Beautiful view!

Beautiful ring!

This is what you are supposed to look like after getting engaged, right?

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post and the beginning of the wedding festivities.
