I would like to say that I am fairly organized - organized with time, organized with my house, organized with my mind. Okay, perhaps I am not all that organized in my mind, but... There is one thing I cannot stand and that is missing an appointment, birthday, event, etc. I use my phone's calendar, a planner, an address book, and sticky notes to keep track of dates but occasionally they will just slip my mind.

In the past I was really good with stocking up on birthday cards. Occasionally I would browse the card aisle while grocery shopping and just read. A few of those cards would stand out and I would think, "That would be perfect for [insert name]." But if I am completely honest, spending $5 per card isn't ideal and really isn't in my budget. Just think if you could purchase cards for less than $1 and use the remainder $4 towards the recipients gift.

Well now you can! Walmart is now offering Hallmark Cards starting at 47 cents. No need to read that statement again. It's true. For two quarters, you can purchase a holiday card - it's unheard of!

Knowing that I have several nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and friend's baby's birthdays coming up I stocked up on some really cute and clever birthday cards. Just because the cards are super inexpensive doesn't mean they fall flat.

I used to remember shopping at the Hallmark store with my mom and grandma when I was little. The store was setup with so many cards and collectibles. But once I grew up and was required to buy cards on my own, I just went for convenience of purchasing cards while grocery shopping.

There is just some type of nostalgia that comes with the Hallmark brand. There is also something to say about convenience. Am I right?! So while I was browsing the entire Hallmark collection at Walmart, I found these adorable sound charms.

If you are new here, then you wouldn't know that I have moved a lot. I also don't live near family and friends so the Post Office is my best friend. Because of this, A and I miss out on watching our nieces and nephews grow and definitely don't get to talk to them as often as we would if we lived nearby. The sound charms are a cool way for us to share something special besides a card and gift card - seriously, who buys regular gifts anymore?!

Now who will remind me to send these cards out?

Be sure to head to your local Walmart to check out the Hallmark Cards starting at 47 cents. You won't be disappointed.

Are you a planner or procrastinator when it comes to birthday shopping?

  2. That's awesome! I usually buy mine at Dollar Tree but have been a slacker lately since it is an out of the way trip. Good to know I can get them for the same price while buying groceries.

    1. I've tried the dollar store for cards but find they are a bit cheesy. The 47 cent ones at Walmart are pretty clever and they also have a 97 cent section!
