Game Changer

*Ad - This is a compensated post. All opinions are my own.

I think about 90% of my posts mention beer or alcohol. Actually, let's make that 99% of my posts include the topic of any type of adult beverage. I am not ashamed of that especially when that means that I get contacted by Buffalo Wild Wings to go try their new beer - Game Changer Ale. The Game Changer was designed by Redhook Brewery and is made to pair perfectly with wings.

Now I have never been a huge fan of Buffalo Wild Wings just because chicken wings are not my favorite dietary item but I am not one to turn down a new beer. The nice thing about this craft is that it is a session beer. When I go to most breweries around Indy, their beers are so high in alcohol that I am drunk after 2 beers. That might be great some days but not when you want to enjoy some food and watch a game.
I had to take A with me because he will also never turn down a new beer tasting experience. So when we arrived to Buffalo Wild Wings, we ordered two beers. Game Changer has a great color and holds its head during the entire time you are drinking it. Am I sounding like a beer snob or just crazy? As for the flavor, it has a slightly malty taste but was extremely smooth.
Then I had to try the beer with some wings because they say the Game Changer is perfect with wings and I don't think all beers go well with wings. A and I each ordered a mixture of sauces - Asian Zing, Spicy Garlic, Teriyaki, Parmesan Garlic, and Mango Habanero. I ordered the boneless wings and A ordered the traditional however, all of our wings came out as boneless. It ended up being okay because I could try all of the different sauces with the beer rather than the ones I ordered. Did you know that I absolutely hate biting into a chicken wing with bones? Now you do.
I must say that the beer actually tasted better with the wings. Game Changer is a great way to wash down some food or drown your sorrows - you pick.

I used to choose a lighter beer when eating wings like a Coors Light or Miller Light but now if I am going to be eating at Buffalo Wild Wings I will definitely choose Gamer Changer. I would have never thought to pair an Ale with so many different flavor wings but it works. However, I will not be eating the Mango Habanero sauce ever again in my life. I thought I was going to die!

Follow Buffalo Wild Wings on Twitter and Facebook to hear all the news so you don't miss out.

Have you heard of Game Changer?
What is your favorite beer to drink with wings or while watching a game?

  1. I too cannot stand meat with bones in it :-) If I ever get the chance to go to B-dubs, I will have to try out Game Changer.
