a traveling Wife: All Hell Broke Loose

All Hell Broke Loose

Monday, February 4, 2013

I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun filled weekend.
For us, it was jam packed with activities at one moment then sheer boredom the next.

Friday I started working on this new craft project for our spare bathroom

I will definitely be posting a tutorial when I am finished.

Because I spent hours working on this project, I was feeling too lazy to cook dinner.
The Hubby and I decided to try a local mexican restaurant but we were disappointed.
To say the least.

I would not call the food on the left mexican by any means. I will say that the margarita was tasty.

Satruday started out very productive.
I threw a load of laundry in,  Hubby shoveled the snow, I steam cleaned dog poop that was trailed in from Hubby's shoes out of the carpet, we moved a couch that we were selling outside, and killed a cockroach all before 9:30 am.
You are welcome for not taking or posting pictures of that creepy bug.

Then because this lady here does not have super strength, the couch put a few dents and dings in the wall. So Hubby went through and patched up those spots and repainted the areas.

All of the morning work made us both extremely hungry and we decided to try another restaurant that we had not been to before. This place was a definite winner.

We had this.

And fried pickles.
You need to try them if you have never before. Trust me.

And then this.

After lunch, we did a little bit of shopping at the mall and stopped by my favorite spice shop.
I ended up only buying some vanilla extract and a jar of herbes de provence. That was probably because the store was closing about 20 minutes after we walked in.

After we got home, we decided that soft serve ice cream was a good idea for dinner.
Yes we can do that because we are adults.
But I made sure that we walked up the Dairy Queen rather than being the lazy people and driving.
It was 20 degrees outside but it was only 1 mile round trip.

Sunday was our day to relax.
We went grocery shopping in the morning which was probably a bad idea.
Everyone was out getting their last minute items for their Super Bowl parties.

Once we unloaded the groceries and ate lunch, we took the puppy outside to run leash
free in the field by us and came inside to enjoy some Puppy Bowl.

After the Puppy Bowl we had about an hour before the Super Bowl actually started.
This is when sheer boredom kicked in. It is always a good idea to play Phase 10 if you are bored.

Now onto the Super Bowl. I was not impressed with the halftime show nor the commercials.
But I do think three commercials can make the cut for best commercial ever.

Space Babies 2014 Kia Sorento

Brotherhood Budweiser

God Made a Farmer Doge Ram

And for anyone who watch, you know about the blackout.
This is when all hell broke loose in my house.
That was a little dramatic.
This little puppy of ours went missing for a little bit and we found her like this.

Naughty. Naughty.

How was your weekend?

  2. The food from the Saturday restaurant looks so good! It's 9:30 at night, and I'm hungry again! And I blogged today about the same commercials that you talked about. Plus a few more. The halftime show definitely was not great. Although I did enjoy seeing some old school Destiny's Child. Hope you have a great week!
